Arches
Day 14 - Saturday
We drove from Farmington to Moab, but first a stop at Arches National Park.
We walked to the Windows Arches and were impressed by the size and vibrant colors.
We tried to go to the Delicate Arch viewpoint, but there was a flash flood and the road was washed out. While waiting for the rain to subside, a man backed his RV into ours. Jason told the man that we'd move, but he backed into us again. This led to aggressive words being exchanged, but quickly fizzled. We decided to hike to Delicate Arch, but Violet needed an bathroom ASAP. Jason took her back to the RV. Alice and I went for it, but it just kept going... and going... and going. We'd get over a ridge only to find out that there was another ridge. Alice and I never made it, but we had a good time and were drenched in sweat. Alice told me, "If you keep up this hiking, your bum could be as small as mine."
Then we arrived at our campsite and the girls were so excited that there was a pool. My opinion was slightly less enthusiastic, as the pool is bite-sized, filled with people, right on a main road, and views a Burger King and a Texaco. We've adopted a "When In Rome" attitude and had McDonald's for dinner, while Jason went mountain biking at Slick Rock.

Love the hat Alice. Beautiful pictures. Way to go April and Alice. How Did it do much damage to the RV?
ReplyDeleteThere is a small scratch, but nothing worth involving insurance. Jason just told the fella to have a nice day, in what I believe, was a sarcastic tone.
