Tetons – Leigh Lake
Day 12 – Thursday
Another sleep-in day!! While the ladies slept, Jason attempted fishing again. He was out there for two hours and didn’t get so much as a nibble. He’s decided to give up fishing and stick to riding his bike. He did take this great photo of Jackson Lake.
The Tetons are very bicycle friendly, so we dropped Jason off at Jenny Lake. He rode to Moose Junction then to Moran Junction and then back to camp. This was about 40 miles and apparently the ranger stations are not located at the park boarders, so they tried to charge him $20 to re-enter. He said he turned on the charm and was able to get back in for free. Jason loves a view point, but he said that we didn’t miss much on this particular ride. Excellent! The girls earned their Jr. Ranger badges.

The girls were almost in tears at the thought of another hike. We all decided that the walk to Leigh Lake was one of our favorites though. It was cool, mosquito free, and very beautiful. After the walk, we swam in a slightly smaller lake that was closer to the car park, called String Lake. It was so clear and so cold, but the kids will do anything now, as long as it isn’t hiking.

Gorgeous photo, Jason! Sounds like you guys don’t need to catch any fish, the girls are turning into fish!
