We're Off
Day 1 - Sunday
After a night of wine, beer, fire pit, and hot-tubing with the neighbors, we're off!
We made it to Silverwood in Athol, Idaho with no major issue! We did have one minor issue that will change the driving experience for everyone involved. During the test camp, we found that the on-board TV/DVD combo worked perfectly, which was going to be a big part of the driving entertainment. About two hours into our drive to Idaho the girls wanted to watch a movie, with no luck. I made Jason pull over and he looked at the fuses, I fiddled with the plugs, Alice started crying (and then she fell asleep for 30 minutes) while Violet just looked on. A few hours later we stopped at Home Depot and Jason bought a square screwdriver (all the screws in here are wonky) and something called a multimeter for testing low voltage power. We were DETERMINED to get that DVD player working, even if we had to replace the outlet. At the next stop, all the DVD lights came on. Turns out, you can only use it while not driving. Apparently our 12 hour "test camp" doesn't teach you all you need to know about RV'ing. #lessonlearned
Jason drove the whole way, which was so lovely, because I fell asleep for a bit.

There should be a way to bypass that Jason, as long as the driver can’t watch tv while driving. The TVs should work while driving, can you call the previous owner, hard telling how it may have been wired in the past. There may even be a switch, or something else simple. All else fails, when you get to the RV parks ask at the desk for a mechanic that specializes in Audo visual electrical systems, they all have contacts they can call for you, and they come out to thr Park. Your doing a lot of driving not to have movies for the girls, I think it would be a wise investment Daddy 🤪🤬🤪
ReplyDeleteI wouls say not to bad for a first day. Maybe buy some extra beer and wine, it always makes things better😂🍻🍷
