Yellowstone - Old Faithful

Day 10 – Tuesday

Jason woke up early again because our neighbor at camp told us that there was an inexpensive all-you-can-eat buffet at the Old Faithful Inn and that we should get there early.  We were planning to see the geyser anyway, so it sounded like a plan.
Jason's Bear

I woke up to Jason shouting, “Where’s my camera!?” and realized that we were stopped in the middle of the road while Jason got a photo of a bear.

Around 7 am we pulled in the car park for the Old Faithful Geyser.  We saw her erupt right away, which was lovely because we were hungry.  It erupts every 90 minutes (give or take 13).  I must say, I thought it would be bigger.  Then we had that inexpensive breakfast at the Inn.

We walked the boardwalk and saw the less reliable and/or less famous geysers and hot springs.  While doing so, we saw Old Faithful blow from the backside and I found it much more impressive.  Jason proof read this while drinking beer and sitting in the RV (avoiding mosquitos) and added, “That’s what she said.”

After the geysers we hiked to the Grand Prismatic Overlook.  We were told that it's much better and less crowded than viewing from ground level.   We agree.
Then Jason took off on his bicycle and the lady Schroeder’s headed back to Yellowstone Lake for a swim.

I used the on-board oven for the first time tonight and everyone thought it was successful.  Now I’m pre-typing this blog into a Word document and drinking wine, because we haven’t had cell service or WiFi for five days.

Two of my many mosquito bites now have the circumference of a bagel.
